Evironmental management for the safe collection, storage and disposal of effluents, leachates, liquors and sludges is high on any business agenda with compliance increasingly regulated by the Environment Agency, the water companies and numerous other bodies and associations as well as the general public.

Also, the operational cost including energy usage can be a significant percentage of a finished product or process.  Therefore, the latest advances in effluent treatment technology incorporating energy saving techniques can provide rapid payback on capital expenditure and provide peace of mind for managers, Directors, owners and employees.

Water, Waste & Environmental Ltd has a portfoil of products and technologies that can treat most organic, nutrient, metal and hazardous substances that contaminate water whether from an industrial process, the production of food and beverages, agriculture, from humans or simply surface water run-off.

Effluent Treatment Plants:
We can provide effluent treatment packages for a small housing development through to a complex industrial treatment plant coping with flows of 2,000 m3/d or more.  Technologies include physicochemico, biological and natural treatment solutions such as lagoons and reed beds

MBR Plants:
Advanced Membrane BioReactor (MBR) technology is a growth area to provide a very high standard of effluent quality with the added advantage of a relatively small footprint.  We can provide containerised MBR plants using low energy submerged membranes through to large tank installations or retrofits to upgrade existing failing plants.

MBR PlantMembrane ModuleMembrane Filter

The membrane modules are placed into modular stainless steel filters that are submerged in the main aerobic tank or in dedicated side stream MBR reactor tanks.  MBR plants can provide excellent treatment performance for a range of effluents with the benefit that the treated effluent is bacteria and virus free and suitable for re-use in many factory processes or for irrigation.

Baleen Filter:
The Baleen Filter is a highly efficient, non-pressurised self-cleaning separation technology that offers reliable, trouble-free filtration to 25 microns without chemical assistance and 3 microns with chemicals, with more than 150 units deployed globally on a range of effluents and contaminated waters.

The photos above show two Baleen Filters in operation with the Imhoff Cones demonstrating the raw and filtered effluent quality.  Typically 80 to 95% of settleable solids are filtered out with a corresponding reduction in organic load and removal of colour.  Chemical assistance improves the performance and the FloccinTM range of flocculents presented below are ideal.

Geyser® Airlift Pumps:
Geyser Air Pump
The patented Geyser Pump takes a traditional airlift pump and improves the efficiency and performance range beyond recognition through simple but ingenious engineering:

  • No submerged moving parts
  • Flows of 1 to 100 m3/hr
  • Static lifts of 1 to 50 m
  • Upto 30% less energy usage than electric pumps

Our exclusive license arrangement for Europe is backed by more than 5,000 succesfull installations globally with years of laboratory and field performance data.

The range includes:
Geyser Airlift Pump:  Standard pump for low heads
Geyser Ejector Pumps:  Low submergence, high head
Geyser Hybrid Pump: Grit pumping
Geyser Super Pump:  Large water volume handling

FloccinTM Flocculating Agents:
Floccin Jar TestLeft:Untreated, Right:Floccin™ Treated

The Floccin™ line of flocculating agents and flocculants or flocculents is a series of many products custom designed to remove most contaminants from wastewater such as:

  • BOD
  • TSS
  • COD
  • Heavy metals
  • Inks, Pigments and Dyes
  • Emulsified Fats, Oil and Grease
  • Phosphates
  • Helps reduce TDS and EC's vs. other chemistries

The FloccinAgents™ encapsulate the contaminants in strong flocs that rapidly form and settle leaving a treated water can often be reused or discharged directly to sewer.

The settled sludge has excellent dewatering properties and combined with small reaction and settlement tanks means existing treatment facilities can be quickly upgraded at low cost, thereby increasing your throughput and reducing costs.
